I really enjoyed this. I picked it up at the book club pick. I really like the set up and the tropes. The characters were fun and eclectic. I almost got the final clue right, so close!

The book stole my heart. I am not a crier when it come to books and I cried THREE times. This book hits so much harder when you’ve read all of the ones before. The fact that the audience is just as susceptible to propaganda is WILD. Collins is so smart and poignant. I’m obsessed but grieving. The book is so relevant and heartbreaking. Probably also why it hurts. This book a was so addicting and well done.
I enjoy these books! They’re fun and easy. I wouldn’t say they are a mystery as much as a suspenseful dramas. I do appreciate the connection from the other books, it creates a rounded story.
I loved this. I will definitely read another book. In the very beginning I wondered if I wasn’t old enough to appreciate the content. But a chapter or two later there was so much I related to. I appreciated the present tense making the essays feel alive. I found it so comforting and real.
I enjoyed this as a fun quick read. Even a good palette cleanser. It was my first book written by her and I enjoyed it for what it is. I didn’t see the main twist but the rest were easy to put together. I think McFadden writes fun, quick mysteries
I really enjoyed the writing. When Fredrick gives the letter and leaves?? Peak romance. Half agony and hope is so real. I haven’t found a second chance romance that has been for me but I’m sure it’s someone’s favorite and this would be for them. I’m a p&p girl. Also I found Anne unrelatable for me, but again personal preference. This was my romance read for valentines since it was just me and pup this year. Gave what it needed to give yk
An adorable British romcom. A unique premise and reminiscent of beloved romcoms (especially the magazine and rival journalists). The side characters were well rounded and love no second act breakup. I really liked him for her as well. Some small things that didn’t quite make it but it was certainly entertaining and enjoyable
Slightly disappointed because I was sure I was going to love it. There’s just something about Maas’s writing I don’t care for. It’s very transparent and predictable. The plot and characters just don’t give me the entertaining feeling I want from a fantasy. I was looking forward to the tests and trails but most weren’t shown on page, more telling than showing- boring. I was hoping for the final 100 to really push it but not quite, the whole the hero could never win in this scenario… but they do. Is just not my cup of tea. It was so painfully obvious that Cain was behind the attacks and the king was the larger puppet master . Leaves it all just feeling lack luster. I may try the next book just to see how it improves but I’m not as hopeful

I was hopeful after Iron Flame even though I struggled through it… this was just as tough if not more so since it was coming off a decline for me. I think we lost the vibes and what was good about fourth wing. *shrugs*

I enjoyed this book. Very quick read for me and I loved the pacing. I think some parts that left me not connecting to the main character, but that is likely on me just being very different from her. The writing is great and loved the style
