it's hard to put my thoughts about this book into words, given how personal the experience was, so i'll just say this: to say it was a difficult read is putting it mildly. it was something i had to put down many times over in order to step back and deal with my own feelings, but overall, it definitely helped me on my journey of both grieving and healing.

In a Jam by Kate Canterbary

Did not finish book. Stopped at 35%.
as was true with love redesigned by lauren asher, i liked everything, but that didn’t stop me from getting bored. maybe i should just accept that “fluffier”/more contemporary books aren’t my jam. they tend to feel too much like i’m forcing myself to participate in small talk.

it certainly wasn’t the book’s fault. i liked the writing and all that was going on within the book (e.g., the characters, the banter, the relationships, etc.), it was just……… boring, and i found i was trying to force myself to keep reading until i just couldn’t do it anymore. maybe i’ll come back to it in the future, but no promises.
