Ooh, I really loved this one!  It was a nice short read but still did a great job of building the relationship between Rija and Mal.  Both characters were awesome in their own right and I loved their chemistry from the very first page.  The slow burn felt realistic and I was totally rooting for these two throughout the book.  I didn't need the action/suspense storyline, but I don't think it took away from the story at all.  Another winner by Julia and she's still on my must-read list!

I really enjoyed this book.  It gives OG Gossip Girl vibes with gorgeous, rich characters planning and executing revenge plots to entertain themselves.  Our FMC, Walker, reluctantly returns to her hometown and gets swept back up into it, including spending time with her former love, Heath.  These two had chemistry off the charts and this book features some scenes that still live rent-free in my mind (I'm looking at you library...)  I also loved seeing them both open up to one another to overcome past issues.  The revenge plots were high stakes and entertaining and left me wanting more.  Despite having little in common with any of the characters, the whole book felt relatable and familiar to me.

Loved the world-building in this first installment of the Soulsword Chronicles from Meg Halcyon.  It had great elements of magic, war, and hidden identities, and a slow-burn enemies-to-lovers storyline that leaves you wanting more.  I loved the witty FMC, but I'm not completely sold on any of the MMCs quite yet.  This book left us on quite the cliffhanger, and I'm eager for book 2 to be released to see more character development and storyline progression, and of course more action, intrigue, and suspense.
