Neon Gods is a modern retelling of the lovers from the Underworld, Hades and Persephone. I know it’s a modern retelling, but I was a taken aback because, this retelling is totally not what I have in mind.

First, Persephone is getting married to Zeus. Hermes is a girl (not that I have a problem about it, but I was uses to Hermes as a guy). Hades adopted 3 dogs, but only named one dog as Cerberus. Dude, where’s the 3 headed good boi? Huhu. they are replaceable because their god names were titles to positions in the Olympus.

I have to pause once in a while to accept & adjust to the setting of the story, after all, it’s a retelling. For the story, I love the friendship between Hades, Dionysius and Hermes, even though Hades keep on denying it. Shipping Hermes and Dionysius tho. I love how Hades ruled the underworld, with diplomacy and consideration. Persephone and Hades started as a fake dating trope that developed into a real one, and still, Hades was my favorite among the big 3.

The death of Zeus is not that impactful. I would like to see a more violent one. Lol.

Pachinko is like a warm soup in a rainy day. It’s warm and homey. Idk. I just find it heartfelt. I love the stories of each generation, from Hoon to Solomon. I love hpw the boys grew up so well. It described the situation vividly. I also come to hate Koh Hansu throughout the book. It’s sad that some of my fave characters left too early. Pachinko will always have a special place in my heart. I am excited for the series. ❤️❤️

I DNF-ed this before, but I’m glad it I picked it up again. This time, the book resonated so much to me. I felt sad and even cried on some parts. This book is like a hug, to all who were left behind. It is comforting, but somehow painful. Each one of the has a sad story to tell. There’s no redemption arc or anything, but you’ll just understand everything. I’m glad i gave this book a chance.

This book was a good read. I thought it will get boring, but it didn’t. I enjoyed it a lot. I love the family. Heath and Jade, even Gene. The plot twist. I know this is a mystery suspense themed, but I laughed a lot. ,I can’t put it down for the big reveal. I didn’t know I was nearing to the end. Didn’t see it coming. Tho i feel that there is lacking. The reason behind the attack. Yeah, it was not elaborated. And the encounter is so short. You’ll know what I mean if you read it. It’s a good book, good storyline. I love it!

This book is about “The Russian” and his wife is real.🤣 I expected a lot about him, because he is one of the glue in the bromance. His conflict is somehow shallow,(for me) like not really confessing and just assuming things. He’s a gentleman and he’s careful towards Elena, but this made him also distant from her. There is less about the Bromance Book club, but there’s the club for widows. Colton is still cool. I can’t wait for his story. I’m kinda disappointed to Elena’s conflict. Her mission and past is not really elaborated and was closed in a rush. Still love them tho. ❤️❤️

This book is good. There are cats, coffee, sisters. The bromance is definitely the best. I love the first two books, and I’m loving this book too. 🥰🥰
