I think that if there was one more cliche added into this book, it would’ve spontaneously combusted.
While I enjoyed the writing, this book's content was extremely difficult to read. Not simply because of what it is, but that the author went into detailed scenes that to me, did not feel necessary to the plot. The two timelines did not always feel connected- I was unsure which case I was supposed to be more invested in. Towards the end, I was emotionally burnt out and just wanted the story to conclude.
