Broken by Sadie Kincaid

I have devoured this book in one sitting. I had been waiting for Broken to become available on KU, and as soon as it was, it was downloaded and, as I said, devoured. I have loved EVERY SINGLE BOOK that Sadie has written (I have read everything to date), and given Nathan has been on the periphery, all the readers and lovers of her books knew he had a story.

Nathan is a lawyer, and as we know, some of his clients are less than ethical, but with this book we see another side of Nathan. Nathan keeps his emotions very close to his chest.

Melanie is a vet nurse, has had more than her fair share of trauma, but she is also strong, and I love her.

This may have started has a marriage of convenience, but there is more to this than what is seen on the surface. There is immediate attraction, but there is also a time where each is protecting their hearts and reminding themselves why they are doing this. So, there is no room for love, or is there? When the spice hits....OMFG it hits, like it always does with Sadies book, and Nathan is just so damn delicious, I can see why Sadie herself reckons he is on par, if not above Shane from the NY Ruthless series. IYKYK. This book had me broken, so please, if there is certain triggers for you, please read them on website beforehand. I choose to not shy away from those triggers, given my own personal grief, as I find healing, and know the book is well written if it hits me how it's meant too. I am now more intrigued than ever to get the rest of the brothers stories, so am looking forward to the next....and the next.....Highly Recommend.
Big Pucking Deal: Men of Havoc Book 1 by Ryan Marie, Ryan Marie

Ryan can do no wrong, and this novella (which is part of a series titled Men of Havoc) delivers.

This is the story of 3 Jo's, yes you read that right, as in twins Jordan and Jolie, and Joaquin, whom all meet as children and become a tight knit trio. There is a time when Joaquin and Jolie don't see each other, and as the book goes on, it quickly transpires as to why.

As adults they meet up again, Jolie, who is auditioning to be part of the dance group to perform when Joaquin's ice hockey team have their break during the game. Of course this hockey team also have the reputation of having parties, where the teammates will pair up with one of the said dancers from the group, something Jordan does not want his sister involved with, and certainly not Joaquin.

Without giving too much away, there are a number of tropes to consider, so please use your discretion. However, I loved it, as I already am a huge fan of Ryan and how she writes, and with blending of different cultures, in all their beauty, this novella I loved, and I look forward to the rest in this series. I will leave you with this, words, even back when you are younger, have power, especially amongst friends. There was years lost, and choices made that could all have been avoided, if there had been open dialogue. And in true Ryan form, because of the nature of one of the tropes, the spice was so beautifully written, all of us deserve that to have in our memory. Highly recommend.

First and foremost, please read ALL the trigger warnings and tropes for this before deep diving. Apart from the fact, you'll think I am completely dark and unhinged, there are parts that may not be for you, and thats okay. However, sign me up, I WANT MORE......I am so glad I read this, as having only read one other book from this author before, and not from this series, I was initially hesitant, but I am so pleased my beautiful book friend, Lakshmi, convinced me to try again.

This is the 3rd book in the Storm Enterprise Series, and let it be understood, I will read the first two, but this can be read as a standalone. Laya is the sister of one of Owen's best friends, and has been part of her life for many years. She has always had, what was thought of, as a crush, but Owen, to her, was so much more than that. For Owen, there was so many reasons why he shouldn't pursue anything with Laya. It's that forbidden relationship that I love, and for him, there is a darkness that he wants to hide from her. But she truely sees him.

I am not here to give spoilers away but holy hackers, this book is dark, unhinged, hot AF and everything I loved, and didn't know I loved or could, and I am more than okay with that. I absolutely friggen loved it, and will need Book 4 ASAP.
Chase by V.R. Tennent

Okay okay OKAY. I friggen loved this, Chase was everything I didn't expect and loved it more. The Chase brothers, Connor and Russell, we have met in the previous books, as this is a continuation of The Level series. Samantha we met thru their little sister Violet, and with the first time the brothers encountered the force that is Sam, it was always a case of which brother would "tame her". Connor, being the seemingly nicer of the two, took his opportunity, but Samantha was also under the gaze of Russell, the seemingly dark unhinged older brother, and he wanted a taste as well. Having seen both of the brothers personalities, I loved how this uncovered more of the both of them, and more the horrific past at the hands of their violent father.

Samantha herself, as had unspeakable violence in her life, so is such a strong FMC, that her attraction to the brothers, and they to her, is palpable throughout this book. I do not want to share too much, or give any potential spoilers away, but if you have read the previous two books and think you know what is going to happen......brace yourself for your mind to be blown. I love VR's writing and this was everything. If I could give more stars I would, would I recommend it, you better believe I would, and do I have a favourite bother, no, Connor and Russell are as similar as they are different, and it is those differences which make this book delicious.
The Boss + The Maid = Chemistry by Louise Bay

When Bennett (aka Ben Fort) met Eddie (but he prefers her actual name Efa). This book is a standalone, (and there will be more books in this series with The Play + The Pact = I Do coming next) but I did love the crossover of characters from The Doctor Series. If you have read Dr Single Dad, you will have met Efa's family as well.

Bennett and Efa "hook up" one night, no doubt believing that neither will see each other again. I mean, this was simply to "scratch and itch" but there is something there. Bennett hides behind an alias to protect himself from the prying eyes of paparazzi, and those who only want something from him. Nothing is known about the elusive head of Fort Inc, and thats exactly how he wants it. He is close, only to his business college buddies, and only they know who he is, well, most things.

Efa is young, fresh out of college, and has no filter. What she thinks, is said, she knows what she wants, and isn't afraid to say so. Efa has confidence to boot and is a force of nature to stir up the elusive Bennett. But, it is the chemistry in other ways (and there is heat, it gets very hot in here)that has them both not wanting to walk away from that amazing "one off".

Bennett/Ben has always kept himself and his life private, he is challenged in more ways than one, when Efa wants to know more about him, but also share this with those she loves. She doesn't want to hide in the shadows. However, there is an outside force who is trying to plow thru the firewalls of not just his company, but who he is and this sees everything about Efa and Bennett challenged. There are so many beautiful moments, perfect and easy to read. I am already a huge fan of Louise Bay and this did not disappoint.

Bravely Yours: A Half Moon Lake Firefighter Novella by A.J. Ranney

This was the perfect, sweet novella to get the heart rate up and feel the heat.

**warning, this book does mentioned domestic violence so please be aware**

Sarah, and her daughter live next door to the very delicious, and slightly younger firefighter (handy am I right), Jay. There meeting is a smoke filled affair, and even though Jay had been annoyed by Nora and her constant crying, there become opportunities for Jay to find out more about his neighbour next door.

I am not going to give any spoilers, but if you want a quick, light read with a reverse age gap, a delicious firefighter and a HEA, this is for you. I have not read this author before, but I enjoyed this, and would love to read more from AJ in the future.
