i really liked the writing style and the fairy tale elements and atmosphere, but

i didn’t love that the main character could only control her powers by marrying the man… i get that the author was going for an arranged marriage trope thing, but it felt like trying to shove a trope into a book where it just didn’t fit

could’ve done without the romance, and sometimes it was a bit too overt in its message and had an easily solvable mystery but i get that comes with YA as a genre. 
excellent vibes overall though. a+ on that front
