I absolutely loved this book. I personally really connected to the story and to Lucy. I though the way it was written was beautiful and unique. I was never bored, read it in two days. Can’t wait to read more from Jill!

Absolutely loved it. You could feel the longing and frustration come through the page, all the while completely understanding why things were the way they were. I enjoyed it because it was realistic. Life isn’t easy and things get complicated all the while trying to understand and deal with our emotions and make the right decisions... I just loved it

This wasn’t my favorite. It’s the first of her books I’ve read and it just... I don’t know it just didn’t work for me.

As into Drew as Bree was, you couldn’t tell at all that Drew was into her. I was waiting for him to be either a total sweetheart or a douchebag that breaks her heart cuz I couldn’t tell if he even liked her. I like their banter after the hurricane passes but before that it was such an uncomfortable weird way they started even engaging with each other.
She always seemed pissed at him... and him kinda short and a bit creepy.

Towards the end, with Caleb and Kyle and her mom and the biological mom.... was soooooo dumb.
Why the hell would anyone fly out to see her two days after a hurricane when there is no power, electricity, and the place is barely functioning? That seemed like a good time for Caleb to see her and for Kyle to apologize? In a disaster zone...??????
It seemed a good time for her mom to bring her biological mother to the disaster zone to meet here?!?!?!
The ending was all rushed and made no sense.

Come to think of it, none of the relationships in this book had weight to them for me.

I just didn’t love it.

But I know everyone can read a book different so maybe some will love it.

Kinda meh,
Nina was a wee bit boring but I loved the idea of the bookshop and her moving to Scotland! Then once she got there the story ventures off into a weird romance that was highly predictable and boring...
Lennox was a very lame character... and it just didn’t feel like there was really a plot line.
My favorite character was Parsley the dog
