This book hurt to read. Timmy reminded me so much of my ex. The timeline was also about the same as my marriage to the jerk and how long I saw his true colors. I wouldn’t classify this as dark romance per se… more romantic horror. I hate how much I could relate to Marg. The excuses you make for your abuser is horrible and unless you’ve been there you don’t understand how anyone gets there. Dex ticked me off. He kept saying he is protective or her and wants to protect her but just sits back and does nothing. I know I didn’t exactly listen to my friends when they said they didn’t like my ex but at least they tried. Ugh I know book 2 is supposed to put you back together from the pain of the first, so I’m definitely curious. It’ll be interesting to see how Dex redeems himself in my eyes.

I love Kit! Who doesn’t need a badass FMC? And Ethan is amazing strong but caring. I love the balance of trying to discover who you are but being terrified of what will happen when you embrace yourself. This is a great quick read.

I was not exactly expecting that. First the guys decide not to kill her for what she witnessed…but then threaten death all the time. And all of the sudden they become protective of her claiming it’s so she doesn’t turn on them. Idiots. After she’s attacked and then has an attempted attack the guys force her to live with them. But they are toxic, taking away college and work so she’s only with them. And then we she sees the video they made of her and the letter with it she tries to escape. I don’t blame her. I’d feel like everything was a lie as well. I’m hoping the guys redeem themselves but damn do I want to hit them right now.
