honestly no matter what issues i had with this book, sid has to be one of my favourite characters of all time and reading about an unapologetically butch lesbian in fantasy is like... probably the best thing that’s ever happened to me lmao

when people said the ending is abrupt i had no idea it would be THAT abrupt. i was okay with it mostly? but getting that SINGLE page of sid and nirrim at the very end was kind of depressing bc i just wanted more of them :( having only one scene of their dynamic/chemistry just felt like a missed opportunity. i cried. whatever

“Hunger, Red—to sate a hunger or to stoke it, to feel hunger as a furnace, to trace its edges like teeth—is this a thing you, singly, know? Have you ever had a hunger that whetted itself on what you fed it, sharpened so keen and bright that it might split you open, break a new thing out?”

this is literally the best book of all
time. do i understand the plot? no i do not. but there are enemies to lovers lesbians moving through time and space IDC ABOUT THE PLOT!!!
