I am very much a mood reader and for that reason had a VERY hard time getting into this book. It was the choice for the book club I am in this month. Another reason I put it off is I tend to prefer my books with spice.
However, once I got into it I did not want to put it down. The banter between the characters is so delicious. The plot is driven and so action packed that when I reached the end I immediately had to see when the next book comes out and it is to far away. (July 2024)
I wish good reads allowed for half star ratings. This book is a 4.5 for me.

I received an ARC of this from the author and I could not put it down.
This was my first "why choose" romance and WOW! I was hooked from the very beginning.
The world building and descriptions really draw you in from the start. Isolde, the FMC, goes through more than you could imagine, however, she never gives up, she never quits and she keeps fighting and believing in her found family.
I love the relationship and dynamic between all of the main characters and I am dying to see where this story goes in future books. I really appreciated the consent aspects of the BDSM content and the care that was taken to ensure how the relationship was presented.
There are so many twists and turns in the book that you won't see coming until you read the words. Get this book, devour it, enjoy it, soak it up and love the characters as much as I do. You won't regret it.
