maybe i’m in the minority here but i’m actually traumatized. i guess this type of thing is just not for me and i’m okay with that. i enjoyed the beginning but i hated reading the majority of this book; some points i actually teared up a bit because it was absolutely awful to read… it’s just so gory and overtly gross and disturbing. it feels almost like torture porn for lack of a better term. the scenes detailing animal abuse were just way too graphic and i feel like they were unnecessary to include, especially when descriptions of some of these [several] instances span for multiple pages. i also did not enjoy reading the sexualization of these young characters in great detail! i counted at least eleven references to one body part alone but there were probably more that i missed... it made me quite uncomfortable to say the least. i think the story was okay and i liked its formatting but just the delivery of it all made me feel really sick :(

i'm not even sure how i want to rate this but i'm glad i can say that i read it. i think it would definitely be better on second read. it was super confusing in the beginning but i see why it was formatted as it was and it definitely made sense by the end of the story. i actually ended up really liking the writing style, it forced me to think in a way that i do not usually think and i actually have to pause and research what i was reading

even though i keep finding myself wanting to go back and analyze every little detail i may have missed, i will give it a break for now!
