Where was this book when I was little? This book made me cry, it was so beautiful. As someone who has always had an anxious mind I love how they teach little ones it’s okay and how to navigate those thoughts at bedtime or anytime. I got this for my friend but I will be buying a copy for my house, it’s that good!
How Leon’s chapters were written bothered me too much. They were written like a caveman with incomplete sentences, and then when people talked in his chapter there was no use of quotations and I just couldn’t get past it. With so many books on my TBR I think it’s important to not force myself to read something I’m not loving. Also I should mention this isn’t the first time I tried reading it, but this was the first time where I noticed Leon’s chapters. I will say the premise seems adorably cute and I’m sure if I could get past how Leon’s chapters were written I would more than likely enjoy it, but I just can’t get past the caveman like writing for his chapters, Tiffy’s chapters are not written like that.
It’s a Sarah Adams book, it would be a crime to give it anything less than 5 stars in my not so humble opinion.
No but in all seriousness I LOVED this book. I knew that if it was a companion book to The Cheat Sheet that it was going to be good, no great! I seriously love Derek and the bond he has with the team. It was so great reading the funny moments with those characters again.
Also I really commend Sarah for the trigger warnings at the beginning of the book, like she said she tried to write it all very light hearted and she did. So in my mind I’m like did she need to? But also it made me love her that much more. Though I should mention there is one scene where they get sick, but honestly as someone who has emetophobia she wrote it in a way that was not triggering at all and I really appreciated that. (I mention this because it was not one of the trigger warnings.)
Also let’s talk chapter 34 (without any spoilers) for a second, in all of her books where there’s been that type of scene she never really went in detail, but this time she did and I feel like you could see her growth as a writer. Also I personally loved how she approached it because honestly I love more clean moments (lol this is me saying it in a way not to give spoilers)
If you are someone who is looking for a lighthearted, laugh out loud feel good rom com, stop reading my adhd rambles and go get this book. You’re welcome in advance.
I do love a good summertime romance but I love it surrounded by summer camp even more. Also I do love books that give you glimpses in the future that really give you that happily ever after feel. Often times the world is sad and depressing so it’s nice even if predictable to escape to a happy place.
I know they say don’t judge a book by its cover but this cover is so good, and I’m happy to report the book was too! I normally don’t like how long enemies to lovers drag on but this wasn’t a typically drag, there chemistry was off the charts. And the ending, omg! So cute! I swoon!
Lynn Painter gets me every time with her books in the best possible way. I’m so glad we live in a world where Lynn gets to write and share her stories because she is an incredible author that makes me feel so dang happy.
As a little girl we read this in third grade and this is the book that made me fall in love with reading. It also was my favorite of the entire series. Reading it as an adult, I’m happy to report it brought back all the same feeling I felt when I was little. That is something special.
