I listened to this on audiobook.
Okay a few jumbled up thoughts. I did not like this as much as the first book. This one I felt went on far too long with how many parts it had, I think 5 and that’s on top of the chapters. It wasn’t until the last 15 minutes of the book that I understood why they did that. Because for most of the way through I was like why is this part of the story important, what does it have to do with Luke and Oliver. I don’t know if that’s spoiling that you’ll kind of put it all together at the very end but I digress.
That said, Luke’s mom will forever be one of my favorite characters and was at least glad we got more of her this time.
Also not me thinking that 10 Things That Never Happened was a sequel to these books. It is not, so I’m confused why they chose to tailor the covers so close. Either way I’m unsure now if I’ll want to read that book as this one dragged on far too long for me. It did though have some lol moments, mostly with Luke’s mom. Her French accent really comes to life in audio and makes it all the more funny with the silly things she says.

I’m not huge into fantasy but I gave jt a whirl. I listened to the audiobook read by the author which was nice. I’m sure if that made me get distracted more as I struggled to pay attention since I would multitask, but the moments I did listen to were good. I just don’t think fantasy is fully my vibe and that’s okay.

Jonathan Smith Turner's grandma was a hoot and would of loved more from her because her chapter had me legit laughing out loud, so for that I gave it an extra .5 stars because of her.
I listened to this on a long car ride and it kept me entertained the entire way without ever feeling sleepy so that should say something.
It is spicy, but I feel like it's less spicy than what I've read from Ali before. I'm not a huge fan of spice but did thoroughly enjoy the story overall.
I should mention I struggle with remembering books based on how much I read, and I think this will be a book I won't remember but I'll always remember the grandma being a hoot.

As a book lover myself, this was an adorable read. But IDK if it's because I worked retail in my youth that I was like OMG Bunny be stealing these books lol. I was like does he bring them back?!? I must know how it ends! HAHAHA! Love the illustrations, I got this for my friends daughter, and I know she will adore this book.
Also I read it, so counting it as a book I've read. I hope that's not considered cheating towards my book goals.

"When life gets dark as winter's night, share some kindness, bring some light."
I got this book for my friend's daughter and the illustrations in this book were stunning. I may r may not cried happy tears while reading this, such a beautiful story. If you're in need of a gift to get a little one, I highly recommend this.
