I am not a fan of the ending. For me it felt like the book stopped in the middle of a sentence. I was digging it at first but it became a little boring and the characters were flat and lowkey annoying.

I didn’t like this as much as the author’s debut. Something about this story read odd to me. It almost felt like it wasn’t set in the present but in like the 1960s.
This was still a solid and enjoyable read, but I do wish there weren’t so many POVs because they didn’t seem necessary. The end felt rushed like the author was just trying to finish because she hit her message across.

Everyone is absolutely insufferable. I may be in the minority but I totally get why Elisabeth got her lick back and that’s probably because I’m a petty bitch.

Mari played the victim so well and then so poorly. Elisabeth wasn’t a saint but she did try and be honest while people stabbed her in the back. And Jack, what a fucking immature manboy.

There were so many times and moments where each and every person should’ve walked away but they didn’t. The ending lowkey pissed me off but that’s par the course for these people.

To be honest I would’ve rated it higher it they hadn’t killed Jay. I really wanted him and Vera to have their own happily ever after, however that may look
