I don’t get how the author messed up to give Ricka or Micheal any personality in the span of 500 pages.
Some of the scenes were so disturbing and the lack of trigger warnings confuses me.
Other than that, the only redeemable characters were Will, Alex and Noah but he vanished for the entire novel after being mentioned for maybe 10 pages.
The epilogue was also one of the worst I read in a book because it made me hate Micheal even more. Speaking about him, the only thing he was doing in the whole damn book was gritting his teeth, slamming her against a wall or yanking Ricka’s hair in order to make out with her. How can anyone be that horny and unwell to enjoy this sort of treatment?

I hated how Ricka was underage (16) in the flashbacks and Micheal was 20! I couldn’t see past the inappropriate age difference

All in all, I enjoyed the plot of the book but it could’ve been executed in a better way.
Some of the lines were borderline cringey ngl. I wished that Avery didn’t come across as a flat character. She only seems to have dialogues with characters without having any monologues hence making it difficult to understand what she’s feeling. As a result, I couldn’t really tell if I liked her character and I didn’t really care tbh.
Other than that, I believe the ending was great and it makes me excited to read the second novel.

PS: Grayson <3 (especially in the end)

Great world building. I liked that the protagonist in this book has many flaws which lead to serious consequences in the end. The only thing that bothered me in this novel is the open ending.

Wes should marry me asap

I loved how Liz realizes that she actually fell for Wes, not Micheal.
The only thing I would have preferred, would be for the ending to be a bit longer. I felt like I needed to see more of their relationship as lovers, not only as friends
