McConaghy's books always emotionally wreck me in exactly the way I want a book to break my heart. I loved it.

Moderate: Adult/minor relationship, Animal death, Death, Mental illness, Suicide, Death of parent
Tension builds through the book and then just kind of deflates. I think this is making me realize I am just not big on books by novelists who teach writing about novelists who teach.
