A lot of fun. I wanted more fleshing out of the concept of "hereness" and "thereness", they seem to come as an off the cuff mention without much context, but the ending was a great payoff. Some of the writing felt a little too Tumblr to me and took me out of it at times.

Reading this I kept feeling like someone had taken all the pages of the book and shuffled them, it was disorienting. But the effect really worked for me as I came into the final stretch of the book and paid off. Worth a dizzying trip

A fun read. I enjoyed the conceit of the format. Has strong Tokarczuk vibes.

I'm glad I read this, but it wasn't an easy read. There are a lot of threads to untangle and the different elements were a bit inconsistent with how effective they were. I'm really curious about this as such heavily autobiographical fiction - Dorfman doesn't really let on how much is truth and how much is fiction, especially since so much of his real life feels stranger than fiction.

I love Reid writing but I feel like I'm constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop throughout her books. I really dig this as a campus novel that isn't about precocious Ivy League students. The characters actually feel like young people in their early 20s and the state school setting lends itself to so many more Kinds of Characters than the insular liberal arts school where campus novels typically take place.
