This book is truly intense! As a writer myself, this story is everything I'm afraid of and I love it.

I just have to say, this better be turned into a movie. The backstory of President Snow is amazingly dark and somehow beautiful all at once. It was a bit slow in the beginning, but it picks up quickly and I just could not put it down!

I had to read it for school, but it wasn't horrible to read. I thought it was fast paced and fairly easy to digest within a week or so. It was very informative, if a bit confusing at some parts. But overall it was a fast and informative read.

This was and still is my all time favorite book I have ever read. I have read it so many times over and over again that I can recite the first few chapters and recall the entire story in my own words. I can even quote many of my favorite parts of the story! It was my start into reading, and it is my inspiration every day as I continue into my own writing journey. Kate DiCamillo is an amazing author and the emotion and scenery in this book is so beautiful. It was the first book that actually made me cry, and introduced me to the fact that books can actually make you feel something.
