Given that this is the first book of a trilogy, it almost feels like the end here could’ve been the actual ending and that there’s no need for 2 other books. I would have loved if the ending felt more high stakes and left off on a more intriguing cliff hanger. It was good, but I don’t know if I’m interested enough to continue the series.

Can’t give a true rating since this is only half the book, however whoever green lit how the characters laugh should be fired. It made me physically cringe every time.

The overall story was really good, but it also felt like reading 3 different stories in one and too much to keep up with initially. I’m not sure how I feel about that, but it was good and I’m excited to read the next book!
