A Prayer for the Crown-Shy by Becky Chambers
medium-paced
3.5
A nice continuation to the first one but in my opinion not a necessary one.
I did enjoy this but the vibe was a little different to the first one and it just didn’t resonate with me in the same way.
Still very cozy vibes with thought provoking topics and worth a read.

Great idea, execution didn’t work for me.
Writing was messy and while some of the humour did make me laugh a lot of it also made me feel quite uncomfortable given the ages of the characters and overall I just didn’t really like any of them

I get why this book is so well loved, it just fell a bit flat for me. The story, ideas and themes were really interesting and well done but the characters just felt a bit too flat to me.

Good up to date overview of the Spanish invasion and conquest. Spends a lot of time at the start discussing contexts of both regions. Also easy to read for a history book
