I loved this from beginning to end. The concept of a boat crashing and a bunch of girls surviving on an island isnt anything unique, but the magical elements that were added were. I really enjoyed seeing where the story would turn, and I found myself tucking my feet under my blanket because I was so nervous!
The ending could have used a bit more work, but other than that I loved this. It gave Lost vibes if you’ve ever seen the show. Weird shit happens

Incredibly informative writing. This is a story about colonialism, sexism, racism, xenophobia, you name it. We follow four amazing students as they study at Oxford and unravel the institution that they have been brought into.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story, but I did wish that it had been slightly shorter ngl. It was super informative and had important messages. However, I wish that the pace had been better in the begging of the story. It picked up in the last half of the book, but getting through such dense subject matter was somewhat difficult for me.
I cried throughout various parts of the story, but I was expecting an ending that completely and utterly destroyed me like The Poppy War. I think I saw it coming, which made it hurt less (still hurt dont get me wrong) than The Poppy War.

A fun ending to the trilogy, but this is definitely more romance than plot. I found myself getting frustrated that Blythe was so clueless as to who she was, and I was also upset that the reveal was so late into the book. I almost think this could have been a 200 page book with everything condensed instead of what we got.
There are so many odd and poorly thought out plot devices that were used to further the story. Chaos was barely introduced and we don’t really get anything out of her character other than the convenience of her threat to Blythe.
Overall I enjoyed it, but it also felt like a chore sometimes. I just wanted to be done with the series finally?

I feel like I read a whole lot of nothing? We had an intriguing start that was so poorly executed. I’m pissed I paid 16 dollars for this ngl
