Sal, a sapient robot, has been running the Cybernetic Teashop for almost 300 years. Clara, an AI technician, has spent her career studying sapience and the ethics of the now-outlawed sapient AI. Together, they bring us tea, love, rain, grief, endings, and beginnings. It’s cozy in the way a rainy day is cozy—just a little sad, but also thoughtful and sweet. A beautiful 89-page afternoon read.

I particularly loved this charming dystopian sci-fi. I hadn’t read anything about this book before I picked it up, and I’m so glad I didn’t, because there are things that happen in the first chapter that play out in such an interesting and well-written way. If I had known what happened, it would’ve made the experience a lot less interesting. Basically, here’s what you need to know about the plot: there’s a charming robot valet on a journey through a dystopian world. And things happen, some absolutely outrageous things, some sad, some hilarious. It’s a great adventure with a strong message. I laughed out loud multiple times. I couldn’t put this one down!

I’m loving these books more with each one I read. This one focused on characters from Mansfield Park. I appreciated both the mystery and the exploration of how things might have played out after Mansfield Park ended. However, I particularly loved the ramping up of the romance plot between Mr. Darcy and Miss Tilney. I can’t believe we have to wait another year to find out what happens next!

I enjoyed the setting and the STEM themes in this book. It lost me with the enemies to lovers trope, though. They were a little too mean to each other for me to take the sudden romance seriously. But that’s always the risk with this trope. Otherwise, it was a fun rom-com
I really enjoyed this memoir! I enjoyed learning how Garten’s passion for food and design grew over time. The audiobook was great.

I love the Thistle Grove series! I enjoyed the romantic match up in this one and the character arc of the main character. I didn’t give it 4 stars, because there was a bit too much navel gazing for me. But I skipped a few pages here and there and it was great
Jessica Redland books are always cozy with some deeper themes mixed in. I recommend this one if you’re looking for a thoughtful character study in a cozy setting.
Graphic: Infidelity
I love the strong female leads in this series, but this one had too much lack of consent for me.
