The Kraken's Sacrifice by Katee Robert

I really liked this up until the very end. I absolutely love a book that speaks about abortion and makes it very clear that it's the woman's choice. While that was definitely done here it was very abrupt. It was like one chapter and then onto the next thing. I think something like that would warrant more of an exploration into the feelings and aftermath.

I really wanted to like this. Like this has been a highly anticipated read for me.
It just felt so long winded in some places and so unnecessary. I love me some dark romance, but this didn't feel like that. A lot of dark stuff did happen, but I was still so bored. The relationships didn't feel natural, and the spice was meh.
Bram can get fucked.

This was really cute. It somehow had really high stakes while also feeling like a cozy read. I really don't think I've read another book quite like this one.
I love how much her tried to help her work through her trauma 🥹. He was just so sweet and there for her, never pressuring her or pushing her. Just the sweet, supportive, and devoted man she needed.

Okay, so I went into this thinking that I would like it, but I didn't expect to love it as much as I did.
Eve is messy. She's chaotic, she's a bit selfish, she's dramatic, and just overall has no idea what she's doing. I LOVE her for that. I think too often in romance books we get a fmc who is just a little bit too close to perfect and that absolutely isn't the case for Eve. She doesn't like her job, pregnancy is rough, her baby daddy is with someone else, it's just a mess.
Shep is a sweet angel who deserves everything good in this world. He's constantly showing up for Eve. Making sure she's okay, buying her groceries, and cooking her food. He's just always there for her. I'm not usually the biggest fan of friends to lovers because I never feel there's enough tension, but there's definitely tension and longing.
I'm really glad I ended up picking this one up.

Yall I absolutely can not with this book. I lost track of how many times I giggled and kicked my feet. Easton is the prime example of if he wanted to he would 😂.
This whole book was just 🤌🤌🤌. The relationship growth between them all was really nice, especially Calder. He just seems so sweet and shy and deserves to be protected at all costs. Watching Briar go from basically a shit life where she was just used to being loved and cherished by these three men was just 🥹. The spice was spiiiiicing. Like. 👀👀👀. Spicing.
Nothing will top Easton, though. He made the entire book for me and I am absolutely feral for him 😂.

This Could Be Us by Kennedy Ryan

Kennedy Ryan truly could not write a bad book if she tried.
The way she writes characters is incredible. They feel more like they're real people than they do fictional characters. This was so much more than a romance. It was self love, learning it's okay to be alone, and powerful women doing it all by themselves. And the women supporting women? Yes freaking please.
It's really hard to put this down once you pick it up. I was just so invested. Were they going to get together? How would all of the kids react? Could Edward possibly get any worse? These are all things I needed the answers to.
I can't wait until book three.

Soul of a Witch by Harley Laroux

I just didn't like this one nearly as much as the other two 😭. I was bored through a lot of it and honestly felt like it was too long. There was so much spice it felt like it was just a filler and I ended up just skipping over pages and pages of it. I definitely didn't need that much spice.
Callum was also kind of meh for me. Books one and two really hyped me up for him as this badass demon warrior and he was just kinda 🤷♀️.

This was phenomenal. It was written in a very interesting way with dual timelines. One is present day and the other begins several years in the past and leads us to present day. I love dual timelines when they're done well.
The emotions of Lincon and Georgia throughout the book are raw, real, and at times, vulnerable. They hurt each other in so many ways when all they're trying to do is protect them. I was really unsure throughout the whole story how they could ever come back.
There was definitely a healthy dose of suspense and quite a few 'what the heck' moments that made me want to just keep reading until I finished it. It's spicy, suspenseful, emotional, and just all around worth the read.
