Delve into a romance of escaped slavery into fake marriage and a contract of mutual revenge in this quick read that will have you gobbling it up until the very end! Hannah is a determined human seeking to prove herself to a higher ranking species and earn her "wings". I'm unsure what exactly earning her wings means, do they do a genetic alteration to humans after they prove themselves? Unsure, but even so, Hannah is kicking butt and catches the attention of an unwanted mentor that doesn't take kindly to being turned down for mating. She's ambushed and forced into slavery, but she escapes with a demon and the only way to survive is to trust him that he has a mutual desire to kill the very same guy that destroyed his own life and she discovers she might like this fake new life that she's fallen into.
Loved it! Definitely give it a go if you like shadow demons and a kick ass FMC that are perfect for each other!

Kingmaker has done it again! I lost so much sleep reading this book when I should have been working on writing my own. I could not put this series down, and then to find out... I HAVE TO WAIT for the next book! I guess I should thank you for having a break between the books and that it's not finished, because I was about to literally start reading book three at midnight. So, my sleep thanks you, but I am excited to read the next one!

If I could give this entire series 5+++ stars I would.

It's a legend of a love that transcends time and realms as the Storm Goddess sacrifices for her family and tries to fix the Inbetween. All the pieces of the puzzle come together beautifully, and once again I'm sucked into the story and all of my questions were answered! I was so frustrated that Ayame lost so much, but it was all so real in my mind. It was the stuff of myth and legend and love in all the best ways.

Why are you reading this review on book three anyways? Get your eyeballs over to book one and start reading, because I know if you read book one, you would already be reading book two and book three! Do yourself a favor and dive in! Read my other reviews of book one and two if you're still on the fence about things.

Brien is a hidden gem of the indie world, and I will shout from the interwebs wherever I can, because as a fan, it is my duty to make sure I have someone else to gush over this awesome author.

Well written adventure with soft political intrigue including the magic of fated mates and a prophecy to thwart darkness from destroying the realms.

There are many things to like about this story and if you like a bit of romance with your mermaid adventures, don't mind that a majority of the time the mer are not wearing their fin half, and you prefer the spicy scenes to be implied and merely mentioned instead of experienced then this tender feels fantasy could be your next favorite read.

With many series starters there is usually a cliffhanger, but luckily for you future readers the story is a complete one, and the cliffhanger is more of a set up for the next story. It has a good stopping point for the threads to be picked up in book two.

Stop reading my review here, the rest is meant for my personal review information

Unfortunately, this book didn't hit the way I was hoping it would. The pacing was much too slow for my personal preference and I found myself flipping pages, skimming much of the book and still feeling like it took me forever to finish. This doesn't mean the book wouldn't hit right for another reader. It just means I personally didn't vibe with it. There was a disconnect for me that I kept hoping would click, but Adara annoyed me too many times and Nerissa and the evil darkness was too cartoonish feeling for me. Like she was evil because buwahaha I'm spoiled and going to be evil to be evil feels.

The story felt too YA despite the adult fated mates interest. And that's okay, I just had more expectations that it was an adult fantasy. There was much too much of the day to day slice of life feels that I just found myself struggling to get through the plot of even the character charm, which this author does an excellent job of getting inside the character's head. Such great writing that I hate myself for not liking this book more.

I really, really wanted more Mermaids feels... and the mermaids had legs most of the time as there was a magical bubble society under the water, and most of the book was in the city, and not in the water, and as a monster lover... I was kind of hoping for some fishtail action. I think overall this book just had different expectations and I wasn't the right reader for it.

5 star read for the right reader.
3 stars from this reader because it has good things but I came close to DNF multiple times. I will not be continuing this series. This book was given to me as an ARC and note that I don't review books at all that are below 3 stars which means I liked something enough to spend my time writing a review at all. Story Origin is used as my personal stat keeper, review not meant for anyone else but me.

I'm enjoying following this world and the mating pairs as the universe plot unravels book by book.
I look forward to reading more in Craving the Heveians and the little taste what to look forward to with the Mitrans claiming some human women and worshiping them. Not going to lie, I'm probably going to pause my journey in the Heveians series and jump on over to Ruzak's Claim next, pretty excited that his book is already out!

I'm here for it! Give Ella Blake's alien romances a whirl for adventure, plot and spice!
