Man..this book.. I’ve been trying to get into reading more non-fiction for a while now and i am so glad i picked this up.
This book covers some of the stuff i learnt in a third year developmental biology class so simply….Neil Shubin you are a god amongst men. This book is chock full of all the fun facts you could ever need.
I see you complaining about this book being a required reading for uni. Let me tell you there are so many worse books you could be required to read. This is such a fun book, full of science and humour.
Second time reading this (i forced my book club to read it. ) I do recognise flaws, would have liked a longer epilogue. HOWEVER the science!! Its characters are so relatable and I love them ALL. Autistic rep, disabled rep, deaf rep, this book has it all.
There is a review of this by Mira Grant talking about how Kingfisher is tearing down the walls in their recent horror books. I totally agree. I adore folk horror and bones and dogs. Bongo my beloved. Foxy my beloved. Kilroy my beloved.
Brilliant book with big Old Gods of Appalachia vibes.
