I was definitely positively surprised by how inclusive this book was because I didn't know that going in. There is queer and muslim representation! I also loved the antihero theme and even though I'm not a big fan of the love triangle trope, it didn't bother me too much and i still enjoyed the book.

I felt like this book kind of turned into a romance novel, but at least it got better in the end, bringing the plot back to the original one. There was also a lot of s*xual content in this one which really frustrated me because the first one wasn't like that at all.

I loved this book. The world building is great, the characters are amazing and there are many plot twist and unexpected turns. I also love the antihero vibes and how you can literally watch Emilia becoming darked as the story progresses. The only thing I didn't like as much was that sometimes it felt like the author didn't manage to build up the tension that the scene should have had. Like, sometimes there were moments when something unexpected or intense happened but the feelings just weren't brought across so it felt kind of flat. That being said though, there are many passages where the author did do a good job with that and overall I still really enjoyed reading the book and I'll definitely read the rest of the series.
