I honestly didn't have high hopes for this book at first. I found the first 10% was really hard to follow and kind of boring. However soon after the book picked up and I started to really enjoy it. The storyline was incredibly captivating. One of those books you stay up at night reading. I constantly had to know what happened next and i was always surprised. The ending really caught me of guard in the best way. I did find the dialogue to be kinda awkward at times but overall i would say it was well written.

I loved this book overall it shined in every aspect of storytelling. Everything from the characters to the writing style was well done. And the different plot lines were very well balanced. Definitely a well-rounded book. However, the ending really disappointed me it felt like the book kinda just dropped of out of nowhere and left me unsatisfied.

Issacs song is written in the same universe and focases on the same characters as Don't Cry for Me. I loved Don't Cry for Me when I read it around this time last year so I was excited to dive into this. I was worried at first that the stories would be to similar and it would just feel like a reread but I they blended together beautifully to create one full picture. I think I would recommend waiting a little between the two books however as reading them back to back would be too much of a good thing. Getting to re visit these characters a year later from a new viewpoint made the story even better.
I've lived in KC my whole life and getting to see my city represented in writing is always lovely and this book did I wright. It Really truly felt like KC, the good and the bad.
The audio for this book was definitely well done, I would totally recommend listening to the book as in my opinion it allows you to absorb the story better.

This was one of the most beautifully descriptive books i have read in a long time. It was full of intricate details that made it feel like you had been transported to another world. I found the story incredibly captivating one of those books you just cant put down. My one gripe was with how hard i found it to keep up with the timing i wish there had been more dates throughout the book so i could better keep up with when events were happening. Overall one of the best books l've read so far this year
