A decent mystery novel. Funny in places and easily read. I'll keep and eye out for others on the series.

I enjoyed this, more than I thought I was. The story has been done before, but that's not to disregard this story.

Saw this in a bookshop and fancied reading it, but it was not up to the expectation.

I didn't like the style of the writing. Found it hard to understand the story and then I partly watched the film, understood the story and then couldn't be bothered.

I liked the concept.
Very clever references.
First book I've read of the author but I'm sure I'll read another.

There was no substance to this book. The story could have been written in half the pages. It only touched on some old medical practices and mentioned some historical figures. It didn't really say anything new about institutions or locking women away. Also, what was the point of the story of the girl who saw dead people. Are we supposed to believe that she did and therefore that this is normal to most people?

Could not see the point of the book at all. Another "best seller" where I wonder what the hype is about.

I was expecting to like it more based on the reviews!
I enjoyed reading it, and was a bit surprised when I got to the end. I was expecting a different ending.
