Did not finish book. Stopped at 35%.
I wasn't able to get lost in their story like others in the series.

I feel like I keep repeating myself, but it's another classic Kristen Proby romance with a love story–of course as well as other characters that you know will centered in another book and are not just there to bookend the main ones. I like when stories are interconnected, but you'll still be able to read them as a standalone. The beautiful family dynamics and setting of her stories just add more to the story to keep me coming back and wanting to find out all it continues.

Another classic love story by Kristen Proby–in a good way. I like Erin and the joy she exuded living in Bitterroot Valley. The "grumpy" Remington is a real softy at heart who runs his family's ranch with two kids. I enjoyed watching his relationship with Erin develop.

I love seeing characters–parents, siblings and cousins–from her previous series making appearances in her later books. Erin is the daughter of Meg and Will from Play With Me, the third book in the With Me in Seattle series.

A nice take on the vampire lore. I enjoyed the development of the relationship between Luna and Sebastian that started with the arranged marriage to bring to kingdoms together. It seem to be unknowing pawns in a plot that hasn’t been revealed. They are going to have to work together to find out what is really going on and stay alive.

Enemies-to-lovers/Opposite attracts set against the backdrop of a prestigious High School where the abundance of luxury rivals the drama.

Ruby Bell just wants to graduate from the renowned Maxton Hall and achieve her dream of going to Oxford. Unlike her wealthy classmates, she's a scholarship student and not from the same world. Like the colours of the categories in her planner–school and family never mix. All she wants is to keep her head down, check off her many to-do lists and get one step closer to reaching her goals in life. On her way to tick off one of those checkboxes, she is caught in the crossfire of James Beaufort. That plan to stay under the radar just went out the window.

If Maxton Hall was a monarchy, James Beaufort would be its king. He's rich, attractive and arrogant as hell. This is his last year and he wants to make it his best before the expectations of his family dynasty take over his life. He has always known what his path in life would be but never expected someone like Ruby would cross it. For the first time, he has met someone who is not interested in getting closer to him and his family but can't seem to get away from him fast enough. In his mind, there has to be an ulterior motive beneath Ruby's altruistic act and he is going to find out what it is.

I felt exasperated for Ruby being put in situations that make her life more difficult by people who seem to enjoy it. There are multiple incidences where she is just in the wrong place at the wrong time and disliked for no other reason. They expect loyalty but don't give her a chance and simultaneously think it's smart to be mean and disrespectful which could push a person to hit back. She is genuinely sweet. While we learn more about James and the reasons behind his actions, I still think she deserves better. Proximity to him comes with a price too high in my opinion. He has been through things and I do feel compassion for him. The kind moments are few and far between in comparison to the chances he will become destructive. The saying hurt people hurt people applies to James and his friends.

The writing style was easy to follow and stay engaged with until the end.

With alternating POVs that help create a complete picture, Save Me proves all that glitters are is gold. Knowing yourself and forming real connections–especially in times of turmoil–are priceless.

This is my first fantasy book of the year. I've always been a big fan of fantasy, but have been having problems concentrating and being able to envision the world and keep track in my mind like I once did without effort.

I was so immersed in the world and invested in Lia that I was able to follow the story easily. Lia is a multifaceted character with a good heart at her core. She is strong despite and possibly because of the hand she has been dealt in life. As the secret daughter of the King, she fights as the only and first female captain in the fae army for the Kingdom of Velyra in a war that she doesn't truly believe despite that same kingdom denying and disdaining her.

While on a mission for the kingdom, things happen that might start the end of who she has been up to this point and the beginning of who she was always meant to be with the help of those she has been raised to fight.

Jace–like Lia–has also overcome a lot to become a respected Commander fighting the war against the fae who have terrorized the humans for generations. He battles for his people and to survive.

This book is written in multiple first-person POVs and gives the story more dimensions and up the stakes as the story continues since you are given insight into the actions and thoughts of others.

It's an enthralling character-driven fantasy with romance, witty banter and subterfuge that goes back generations culminating in a new battle.
