Loved this! I learned about sharks and I thought that the connection between the memoir parts and the science parts was so well done. Highly recommend!

I have not enjoyed CMQs other books that much and only picked this up for book club. I’m very glad I did though because I loved it! If you aren’t going to enjoy all the food and travel descriptions then I would skip this one, but I felt like I was kind of along on this trip with them.

I enjoyed this! It was emotionally investing and I really cared about the characters. The narration was well done as well. Would recommend!

I really liked the premise but I felt the execution wasn’t there! It was all very surface level and felt very YA without actually being good YA.

Thanks Libro.fm and McLennan and Stewart for the ALC.
like most essay collections I thought that some were much stronger than others. While most of the content wasn’t ideas I am unfamiliar with, I did enjoy the focus on Canadian events and politics. I also liked the memoir aspects of the essays. I felt like otherwise this didn’t add much to the feminist literature. The last essay/epilogue which was a relatively uncritical look at Taylor Swift did the opposite of tie the book together for me.

Took too long of a break and now I can’t remember the plot so I’m going to have to restart this at some point!
