Started off with lots of set up. Which makes sense given the place in the story we're at. Ramped up the exposition but in a good way. It finally starts answering the questions we've had for a while. Sets up the final climax, finished the penultimate battles, and then gut punches you at the end, even on a second read you feel it. Very good second to last book for this series.

Happy to see this universe back. It’s a lot of set up for the trilogy. Character work and such. Good characters, old and new. The familiar faces are nice and I’m glad Nigel and Ran have a reason to be around after being somewhat rightfully discarded in the last series. Takes a while to get going, but not bad. “Professor” Nine is the highlight, even tho he’s not supposed to be. I hope the next book takes it up a notch.

A fun extended epilogue. Awesome seeing the characters live their post series lives for more than just a chapter. I’d for sure watch a murderer of the week TV series, someone get on it.

Books well written, but presents many logical fallacies as if they’re widely accepted premises. Drones on about the "road runner theory." Written well enough to feel like it makes sense on a first read, but as years go by, more and more holes begin to form in the authors' logic.

Solid ending to a solid series. As far as sequel series go, it did well. Of course hard to live up to the original, especially with just three books. But I did like all the new characters. Just found myself more actively reading whenever the old ones made their appearances tho. The final villain was VERY threatening. Creepy if not scary. But the ending was a bit abrupt. It’s a series worth checking out if you loved the original.

World building is important for the series, but not exactly thrilling. Can be a bit cheesy. But definitely wanted to keep reading.

Starts off pretty good but kind of falls into a formula that it doesn’t come out of for a while. But the end was engaging once you finally do. And the last chapter had me feeling… definitely surprised. But I’m not sure if I like it yet or not. Looking forward to Fearless!!! (Please actually have powers in that one)
