Wasn't a terrible read but it felt too on the nose. It felt like the author wanted them to be together and so they just were, without any real substantial relationship development. It kept my interest in the beginning but after awhile, I could already guess what was going to happen next.

The fmc felt very Mary Sue to me. She was the strongest, fastest, came into her powers immediately, got the guy, etc etc. A little bummed she didn't have much substance to her. It might've been more interesting to see her struggle to get control of her powers or get trained up or something. Even her relationship with the king felt like it was too easy. Especially if he was so crushed about his previous wife. I wish the overall plot was more built out too
