I like all of the Dresden books, but I can't ignore how poorly developed his women are. I keep reading because I can overlook it since this is a film noir genre story, but I can't ignore it.
Interesting premise, but each speaker sounded exactly the same. I kept missing transitions and forgetting who was talking and then having to go back and check. If you're gonna write an oral history, make sure your speakers have distinctive speech patterns and vocabularies.
Just couldn't get used to reading comics on a kindle. Gave up. (Also all the art was really dark. Not grim, just without light.)
This book was charming and had a great premise and some good world building and was a quick read but didn't hold a candle to Jane Eyre, and you know what? Just go read this review because I agree completely: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/354080340?book_show_action=true&page=1
Maybe because I didn't go into this one thinking about the high bar of Jane Eyre, I enjoyed Copperhead more than Ironskin. But also, I think Connolly's writing got better in the second book (which. good! well done, Tina!). Also this one featured a scene of high-society women in silk dresses attacking a warehouse of domineering husbands wielding hat pins & letter openers. I am so into that.
