**Thank you to  Creature Publishing and NetGalley for this digital ARC of Root Rot by Saskia Nislow. Expected pub date March 24, 2025.**

I was really excited to read this novel based on the synopsis-but I quickly realized the writing style was not for me. There are some fairly creepy scenes in the book, however it's just really hard to follow the characters because there are nine cousins and each child has a name like, "the one who runs away" or "the one with the beautiful voice."  I would say that each sentence includes one or more "names" so it just became really redundant for me.

I did really like the plot of the story, it has a fever dream type feel to it. Honestly, just think magic mushrooms and fungus. Ultimately this one just wasn't for me.

**Thank you so much to Poisoned Pen Press/NetGalley/Johanna van Veen for this Digital ARC of Blood on her Tongue. Expected pub date March 25, 2025.**

Johanna van Veen has done it again, I just adore her writing.  She has a way of enchanting you, which keeps you invested in the story from beginning to end. This Gothic Sapphic Vampire novel is truly unique, I can honestly say that I've not read anything like it in the vampire genre.

This was not worth the hype - but I can see why people are talking about it. It just felt like a bunch of nonsense strung together to keep you reading- which is why I finished it. 🤷‍♀️ This gets ⭐️⭐️ stars from me.

RUN, don’t walk, to pick this novel up!
.
I’m currently suffering a binge reading hangover because I couldn’t put this book down! I stayed up til 2am just to finish it (I had to be up at 3:30 am).
.
This book is tense and unnerving. I’m not going to spoil anything for you - but just imagine the gory possibilities a medical student could create with his tools. And the twist at the end - chef’s kiss!
.
If you’re in a slump, I guarantee this novel will pull you out of it! I highly recommend reading this book!

Thank you so much to NetGalley/Tor Nightfire for a digital ARC of When the Wolf Comes Home by Nat Cassidy- in return for my honest opinion. Expected Pub Date April 22, 2025.

Nat Cassidy has done it again! This novel is technically a Werewolf novel, but wow, it's just so much more than that. The book starts off with a bang- showing you 'the monster' right off the bat, but then you immediately realize there's a catch to said monster. I don't want to risk spoiling anything because I really think you need to go into this one blind to experience the plot and characters - but this story was so unique! Make sure you read the afterword too- it's so inspirational and really gives insight to where Nat Cassidy got his ideas for this story.

Thank you so much to Cooper S. Beckett for reaching out and offering me an ARC of Osgood As Dead. Expected Pub date is Feb 6th, 2025.

This was a fun queer supernatural sci-fi novel. One thing of note is that this is book 4 out of a series.  I really appreciated the fact that at the beginning of the novel there was a recap- which makes it easy to jump right in. The story follows Prudence 'Os' Osgood's journey as she 'wakes up' with Locked-in-Syndrome. An elder god is creating a resort world in her mind- trying to take her body.

I really loved Os's character! She was funny and I found myself laughing at her inner monologue quite a few times. Beckett's writing skills are wonderful and I found this novel very easy to read. Although this isn't considered a horror novel, I do want to warn readers that there are a couple of bloody/graphic scenes within these pages. You will also run into a spicy scene quite early on.

If you love queer Sci-Fi romances, I definitely recommend picking this one up!
