4.75, everything went so fast that I have no time to process every single thing. Five Survive has a lot of plot-twists although the main focus is rooted from one case (which has a connection to another case and characters) and that’s what makes it challenging! I can feel a tight grip as I flip through the pages but... I didn’t expect that there will be more casualties than it should.
1.75 rounded up, I struggled to finish this one. I wish I could enjoy and love this book like the rest of reviewers do.
4.75 rounded up!! It was confusing at first, I had a hard time grasping whatever is happening in this book, tapi semakin aku baca, aku jadi ngerti sih. Cerita yang ada di buku ini sukses bikin senyum-senyum, bikin hati menghangat, bikin aku merasa nggak nyaman, dan bikin aku merasa sedih juga. All in all, brilliant.
3.25! It has 3 main stories; from the Monkey King, Danny, and Jin Wang. I thought they weren’t related to each other at first, but in fact, they are connected. And it finally makes sense as I reach the last 10 pages. The message that creator wants to convey are great too, it tackles about racism and self acceptance. The characters Jin Wang, Wei Chen and people around them were portrayed (awfully) realistic; as for Jin Wang, the creator made him into someone who’s being self-conscious. People around the MC and his Asian friends... some of them are treating them nicely, regardless of their races or whey they came from before settled in the US. Some are nothing but awful bullies. If you are looking forward for the major series based on this graphic (which will be broadcasted this month), go give it a read!
