Death's End by Cixin Liu
5.0
In this thrilling finale to the trilogy, Liu expands the literary world even further - into other dimensions of the universe (at this point, I'm not even sure if 'literary world' is the accurate term already).
Much like the previous 2 volumes, Liu leaves no breathing space for the reader; we are pulled along the journey, glued to the page-turner as we explore the world Liu masterfully constructed from 1 character's perspective to the next. However, at the end of the novel, the book screeches to a halting stop: like a once glorious star that has sputtered out of existence, collapsing into a black hole.
TL;DR: get a reading buddy if you plan to finish this series to get you through the eventual emotional wreck.

The Time Traveller's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger
1.0
As a social worker volunteering in the child sexual abuse field, The Time Traveller's Wife eerily reflects the experiences of child victims.
Yet, the narrative is heavily romanticised, repeatedly justifying the protagonist's (borderline creepy) approach towards the female lead.
My feelings after completing the book? Disgust.
Don't buy the book unless you are really out of better options.
Oh and a huge chunk of the book is spent detailing the characters' thoughts and actions; read the first few pages of each chapter and you'll get the complete picture of the plot already.
Would've rated the book 0 stars if not for the amazing cover picture.
