An interesting dive into the archetype of unlikeable female characters and how those archetypes change over the years. I enjoyed this story though felt it only scratched the surface.

An emotional and fun murder mystery with a dull timeline and great relationship between all four characters.

A challenging but inspiring story, with complex characters and rich in imagery. I found this to be an important story about women, being a refugee and fighting for one country and dignity.

A phenomenal read that stretches over three generations, two countries and one family. About queer identity in the individual and the community and how family and culture is apart of that identity/community.

A reflective story about an American family on a missionary trip to Congo during the 1950 and there time their.
I liked the structure of this story and found each character pov interesting and distinct and the setting being the Congo before, during and after early independence to be intriguing. How each character reacted to not just their own family trauma and the guilt or lack there of for their country’s involvement in the downfall of Congolese independence.
