This book had huge shoes to fill after the first book in the series was a five star read for me! It lived up to all of my expectations! If you are looking for a low-angst romance with loveable characters then look no further. I absolutely adored reading this.

The premise is ’straight’ football coach, Jason takes the new English teacher, Emerson, under his wing. The autistic and touch starved Emerson struggles to accept why anyone would want to be his friend. After struggling with a family who treated him as an inconvenience, when Jason effortlessly makes thoughtful and effortless accomodations for him he has no idea how to react. This book was that swoon love story that everyone dreams of. Jason also has to overcome some obstacles, namely his self-imposed ‘straight’ label; to the point where everyone can see his heart eyes except for himself (my favourite micro trope).
