Very good book and creative storyline. Was just a bit disappointed how easy it was to actually defeat the dark magic.. a bit too easy. Fighting scenes a bit over the top, but the main characters so lovable that I cannot wait to read the following books, no matter the small disappointments, to know what happens.

I really enjoyed the book, and contrary to what I've heard from my book club readers, I enjoyed the constant change of character POV. They said the plot was not flowing because of it, but I actually think the author was able to move the plot beautifully in and out of characters.
I'm giving 3.5 because I was a bit disappointed by the lack of climax towards the end, that seemed to build all the way through the book. Disappointed that I don't know and will never know where the boxes came from, but ultimately glad and disturbed at the same time, that this book really showed our true colours... We are capable of so much hatred for no real reason it's disturbing.

Omg I am shaking, my heart is still running wild.. never been so emotionally involved in a book. I don't even know what to write here, other than this book is so many things!!

Yes at points it felt like it was a bit too slow. Yes sometimes the dialogue (internal and spoken) was lacking a bit. And yes there could have been more spicy scenes, but I loved every page of it. Iron Flame, here I come!

I remember the first proper book I ever read, it was back in 2004. I have been reading books for 20 years, and yes many made me cry and gasp and feel ecstatic, but never before a book has hooked me so much. Never before I have spent entire days picturing scenes from the book, analysing my emotions at each action and dialogue. Never before I felt so connected to a character, and in this case to the author as well, as I did with Guy's Girl. It made me look at myself differently, it made me realise that what I was doing to myself was far from being 'normal'. Emma Noyes wrote this beautifully, I love the way she used the space she had in the pages, the description of the disease was so real, it was beautiful and haunting at the same time. Emma wrote Ginny so well that I felt like I knew her, and seeing her struggle was so hard. I cried with her, I felt broken with her, and I felt so happy at the end! I think Emma is a fantastic author, and this book is now my favourite. Can't wait to read her next books to come ❤️

Apologies to all those who are big fans of this, but I found myself quite disappointed. Perhaps had I read the book before the movie I would've enjoyed it more, but the movie Stardust is my top chart, first place, all time favourite movie, and that is the story I fell in love with, the characters I fell in love with, those I laughed with and those I didn't like so much. I fell in love with with the progression of the love between Tristan and Yvaine, and to find that in the book is barely mentioned until they kiss... Or that the evil witch is too old and gives up, and that Yvaine kissed her goodbye... Or that Tristan dies and Yvaine is left to rule... Instead of them spending their eternity as stars, together forever. The last chapter felt rushed and emotionless.
