Another very fast read. The art is incredible and you really get a solid feel for each character and some of the underlying turmoil each of them is going through. It's a beautiful sequel to the first volume and leads into an open opportunity for volume three.s Expect to be smiling at some of the fun the characters have while feeling sad for certain characters.

This is a beautiful book. I have not read the original so I cannot make the comparison. It was a quick read. Much of the book feels like it goes by fast, which may be a problem for those who have read the novel. Ultimately it hits the emotional points and in a manner that is very animated.

Absolutely loved this book. Devoured in two days. It's a little mystery with a heartfelt look at growth and trying to find out who you are when you have spent your life under someone else's plans for you. Good twists

This book is incredibly wonderfully it is sapphic, hot as hell, and tenderly and cleverly written. Read all the TWs before you go into though. Heck, look up what you're getting into first period. Do not stumble into this book. Go with intent.

Ultimately, I love the messages this book has to offer but the first half of this book and almost all of the characters are absolutely unlikeable in any way or form. Most steps forward they take to being someone you want to see succeed is immediately negated by them being a bad person in some other respect. The way the scenes move and time is treated feels very sloppy.

I think I have to agree with most other people on this book. Pageboy is an extremely difficult book to describe, and overall I don't think it's a good memoir. I don't think it's a bad one. It feels like you're reading someone's journal entirely out of order. The amount of graphic content and confusing additions that detract from the overall experience are high. Likewise, there's so much that feels missing. Whole topics just evaporate that deserve to be elaborated on.

Maybe this one isn't for me. I really don't know who it's for though.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 20%.
This main character is wholly unlikeable at the start. She's constantly whining, aggressive, and otherwise just mean spirited and haughty. Her magic might be mean too but the fact she's willing to take it out on everyone else as the focal point of the conflict and then not take responsibility is an instant no from me. There's not enough information to build any sort of sympathy with this character either. The final straw was her
defiantly stating to the council that she would rather choose pain than magic and then in a small number of pages willingly signing away her magic to her old friend, whom she dislikes because he went off and became a council member. Her inability to act with any rationality is off-putting.
And based off the other reviews here, I'm not missing much.
