I enjoyed this one! To be fair, as a big fan of fungi, anything involving fungi always have my heart—but I personally really enjoy her writing style. It was such a delight to read her characters and their antics.

I kinda understand Maddy a bit. Like yeah, if I found out some fungi could learn to talk, I would be hella impressed too. Oh Maddy, you would have loved modern scientific research and methodology. 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️

A pretty enjoyable read. Not so scary, in my opinion, and the plot does take you to an unexpected place. The characters are lovely, though, and I really enjoy the MC’s narration style.

The Hysterical Girls of St. Bernadette’s is not just a mass hysteria story. It is a story of sisterhood, of female rage, of a woman’s identity (as a girl, a woman, a mother, a daughter, a sister), of a woman’s voice. It is a story about finding your voice, and about listening to these voices.

This book is in equal part scary and comforting. Terrifying, but full of heart.

One of my most anticipated reads of the year, and had not been disappointed. It was gripping and hard to put down, and with every twist, I was drawn to keep on reading to find out more.

This book had not gone to the direction that I had expected. As someone who works on a group project quite often,
I had thought they would have completely lost it and started killing each other out of sheer anger and frustration.
The plot take quite an interesting and unexpected turn, and while if feels a little far-fetched at first, I grow to enjoy it. By the time I read the author's acknowledgment, it doesn't feel too far-fetched, and instead I feel like it has introduce me to an issue I was unaware of.

This was fine. Have to admit that I find Frances and the other 1960s cast to be more compelling than the cast in the present time—to the point that I wish that the entire book had been written about Frances and her adventure. Still pretty enjoyable.
