Heir to the Jedi by Kevin Hearne
3.0
It was good, but could have been better. I don't exactly know how. Maybe it wasn't what I needed to read at the time. Whatever it was, it was nice to learn more about Luke becoming a jedi. It was a very jedi oriented book. Some of the characters I didn't like too much and I didn't understand what was happening sometimes. But a lot of that is just the complications of the force in the star wars universe. I have been trying to read a lot of the star wars books to gain knowledge about the universe, and I feel that if I skipped this one it might have been okay.

I started this book with so much excitement. YES! I FINALLY GET TO SEE WHAT HAPPENED AFTER THE DEATH STAR BLEW UP! (besides the whole galaxy having a party). Except in this book I learned the whole galaxy wasn't having a party. And the war was not over yet. It seems like there is always an ongoing war in the galaxy that just shapes into new things but never fully stops. Like all other star wars books, this one was very informative and really helped me know more about all time periods of the galaxy.

I ENJOYED READING A TEXTBOOK!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay, theres something wrong with that. But thats kinda how this book is. The format and language is exactly like you are reading a textbook. Only, a textbook on quidditch. And while it was not really that interesting, hey, Harry Potter is Harry Potter. Mostly it did actually help my understanding of the game.

I have started a new obsession of star wars books because of this series. I really wanted to know what happened before the sequels, and this answered a lot of my questions and helped me understand some theories I’ve been seeing online. It is a really good idea for any fan wondering the same thing to read these books and a lot of the other ones two, which I also found helpful.
The Tales of Beedle the Bard by J.K. Rowling
5.0
This book is more of just a fun read. It gives you a small glimpse into what bedtime would have been like as a young wizard. Instead of sleeping beauty and cinderella you have the fountain of fair fortune and the tale of the three brothers.
“The wizard and the hopping pot, babbitty rabbity and the cackling stump. Come on, babbitty rabbity. No?”
-Ron Weasley
I think we all wanted to know those stories when we heard that line.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald by J.K. Rowling

Nothing more than the movie, but still fun to have another J. K. Rowling book. Sadly, this may be the closest we get to another Harry Potter from her. I also think it is interesting to read movie scripts. It is totally different than reading a book with “says” and a lot more narration. It gives a different affect on the reader and allows for new experiences.

I have reread this book at least five times. It is one of my favorites and not too long so if I just need something nice and happy I can automatically turn to this book. The romance can be a little overwhelming to those who might not be used to this much of it. If you are not I doubt you would even be reading this review right now. I love it every time I read it. Plus it never seems to get boring. I do try to space out my rereads so I never run into this problem, however, I do not think I could with this book. Its cute and cuddly and can surely pack a lethal punch at the right times.
The Legends of Luke Skywalker by Ken Liu

More of a side book apart from the rest of the star wars universe. I am slightly confused why this book is called cannon. Although it seems to take the timeline and events of the cannon movies and books, it is a book full of LEGENDS. Anyway, it helps you know a bit more about Luke Skywalkers reputation in the galaxy. Some of the stories are garbage, meaning they are absolutely ridiculous. However, some others are really good. Nothing in this book told me about what happened between the original series (4, 5, 6) and the prequels (7, 8, and soon 9), which is what I was hoping for when I picked it up. It was still a good read either way and added a little something new to the star wars universe.
Invisible Ghosts by Robyn Schneider

Not exactly what I was hoping for, but still amazing. When I first heard about this book it was described as “this girl has superpowers because she can see ghosts. But don’t ask her to save the world because she will be too busy backstage with costumes”. I thought that sounded amazing. While some parts are true, she is never asked to save the world, and her powers are never described as superpowers. All the same the book was good. I liked the romance aspect, plus the theatre parts were funny. It felt a little like those stand alone books in middle/ late elementary school that you read and are kinda cheesy but you think they are still good. Like that in a good way
Check, Please! Book 1: #Hockey by Ngozi Ukazu

Just so fluffy and cute. Incredibly cute. Normally I don’t read graphic novels, but I read this one for whatever reason. It surprised me. Bitty was such a cute and relatable character. CUTEST BOOK EVER!!!!!! I loved all the big hunky hockey guys that are actually cinnamon rolls. I cannot wait for the second one and I am ready for things to pick up in Bittys sweet little land. It is always on my recommendation list. Oh, I just get happy feelings thinking about this book.
