I was completely invested in this book from the beginning to the end! I thought it was going a different way but the twist was still satisfying. The plot, romance and spice were a perfect balance. Can’t wait to read more of her books!
Graphic: Child death, Mental illness, Suicide
Postpartum depression trigger!
It started off super interesting but got really confusing as nothing really made sense to me. Maybe there were books before this I had to read first???
The POV changed and I didn’t care about the others when I was so invested in one. I’ll finish one day but I need a break lol
“No, David!” is considered a comedy and humor picture book written for children ages 2-5 years old, that has won numerous awards including, New York Times Best Illustrated Book. It’s about a young boy named David who is exploring new things and getting himself into trouble. It was written by the author who went through these things with his mom at the age of 5. I rated this book a two star because it’s a bit negative to be honest. I wish the author included some “yes” things that David did to actually teach redirection and show right from wrong, instead of just focusing on things he got disciplined for. While I am not a big fan of the book it does have good things about it. The pictures are hilarious and captures the interests of not only adults but young children as well. I really love how simple the reading is with few words for early learners to get familiar with. Another good thing is, some children can relate to the book if they always hear “no” or have had experiences similar to David while exploring new things. It’s a very quick read and straight to the point.
“If Animals Kissed Goodnight” is a fiction book written for infants to age 3. The book is about different animals and how each one of them kiss goodnight. It’s a very cute and silly story to read to your little one(s). I rated this book a 5 star because it’s very entertaining for me and my child to read. The rhyming is silly but flows so well. Overall I just think it is a really nice story that is perfect for bedtime. (My toddler makes me read this one every night). The illustrations were great and matched the story and the repetitiveness of the sloth and her cub is a very cute touch. This book would be super appealing to young readers even up to age 5 or 6 I think because it’s simple, silly and just a well-put story. I would use this book with the children I’d work with if they are in my care close to bedtime to wind them down. I’d also use this book if I am teaching about bedtime or nighttime routines.
