We follow Chase and Renate in this book and watch as 2 people come together to beat the odds of being together. Chase is a mega movie star who has severe anxiety and trauma that he has to work through. Renate is a school teacher who has one of the worst ex-husbands in the world. They meet at a volunteer even at the school and Chase ends up getting Renate to agree to a date with him. These two fell in instant lust with each other. I felt like it was hard to understand how they could have fallen in love at first. Jordyn does a good job at letting the characters fall in love gradually but in this book it seemed almost too gradually. It made it harder to believe they actually loved each other and not just wanted to rip each others clothes off every five seconds. This one was way spicier than the first 2 books in this series that’s for sure. Definitely make sure to check trigger warnings for this book because there is a lot of talk for several triggering things and the course of the story goes darker than the first 2 books in this series. Overall it was a fun read and I did enjoy it.

After reading the sacrifice, it was nice to get some one of Tyson’s boys story. Following Colton and Raylee’s story was everything I didn’t know I needed. They are step siblings that have had a thing for each other since they met in their late teens. The beginning of this one starts off intense and the intensity of their relationship never gives. The spice in this book was probably some of the kinkiest I’ve ever read and it just made sense for the characters. I loved the female empowerment that is represented throughout the whole story. After what Colt and his friends did to Nate, I guessed something would happen. I will say what happened in the end was heartbreaking and I wish I could get more of the aftermath. Now I want stories for all of Colts friends! And for Raylee’s best friend!

Diving back into the L.O.R.D.S. Universe is always going to be a fun time! This book follows Tyson Crawford and Laikyn. I loved Tyson in the first 2 books and I was so excited to get to his book. Although this is an arranged marriage situation it’s not like any other arranged marriage I’ve ever read. I loved finally getting Tyson’s backstory and seeing how Laikyn was weaved into everything. One thing Shantel Tessier will do is throw you for a loop with her plot twists! The plot twists in this book felt like I was on a rollercoaster towards the end. She does a good job at making sure you know enough as the reader to follow the story but not enough to figure anything out until she wants you to. I will say towards the end of the book some of the writing felt a little too choppy and harder to follow at what point in the story I was in but I was able to follow along eventually. Overall, I really loved finally getting Tyson’s backstory and continuing in this universe! On to the next one ✔️

After hearing so many good things about this book I finally read it! It felt like the right time! This book is about a woman (Saeris) who ends ups trapped in a fae realm where she meets Kingfisher who is a shadow wielding high fae. Together they are working to open the gates Saeris accidentally activated to get there. Her goal is to get back to her brother in her realm while Kingfisher’s goal is for Saeris to help him gain an advantage in a war that has been going on in the fae realm for thousands of years. This story was captivating from the first page. There wasn’t a second of boredom while reading. I like Saeris and even though Kingfisher started the book as a jerk, I grew to love him too. The side characters in this book were some of my favorite! I mean Carrion Swift was the best 😍 I enjoyed the dynamic all the characters had and I liked that there were parts I couldn’t predict throughout the story. Where the story lost half a star for me was all the similarities I saw between some of these characters and other characters from other books. It felt like parts of this book I had already read before because of those similarities. It didn’t bother me enough to not enjoy the story but I don’t feel I can give a 5 star because of it. Overall, this story was very good and I enjoyed myself so much. I can’t wait for the next one!

We follow Jane in this book in a single POV as she tries to have a big pop star write a song for a movie she wants to make. She knew this pop star when they were kids and she was acting on a sitcom show but hasn’t talked to him in over 20 years. To get back in contact with this star, she enlists the help of her professional rival, Dan. Dan is a cinematographer that shut down the first movie Jane pitched to their executives. Ever since then Jane has been holding a grudge against Dan but she has no other choice than to take up Dan’s offer to get backstage at one of the pop stars shows which Dan’s brother is working at. This leads to them traveling to Dan’s hometown in New York together and this trip helps Jane with self discovery and facing her past.

I loved reading this book. It gave so many feelings and truly tugged at my hearts strings. The characters are all so wholesome and lovable. I loved the Dynamic between Dan and Jane. I loved watching Jane fall back in love with herself. As much as I wanted to kick Jane for some of the things she did and said, I still loved her. The story was believable and made sense. Dan was not what I was expecting going into the story but in a good way. I liked who he was better than whatever stereotypical type of person I was thinking in my head. This author does a good job at changing up the norms for characters in this type of story without giving up the important parts of what makes a character interesting to read about. Overall, I really enjoyed myself while reading this book and it was a perfect representation of what it means to be honest with yourself and those you love so you can heal and grow. I highly recommend if you want a love story but make it realistic.

I’m in love with this series and this seemed like such nice wrap up for it. I loved jumping back into this world and having POVs for all the different characters! I do feel like we focused more on the shadow man and Lyla but I was okay with it. There were some things that happened during the book that I felt weren’t necessary to the story and were only put there to make our hearts bleed but I was still satisfied with the ending. I do think the conflict was resolved a little too easy but after everything these characters went through previously I’m not mad about it. Overall I’m sad to see an end to this series but I’m super excited to see what other stories RuNyx has in store for us!

The final installment in the Chestnut Springs series and I think it was the perfect one to wrap everything up. This one follows Beau and Bailey. Beau is the final Eaton brother to fall in love. He is a ex military soldier who ends coming home to work on the family ranch even though he hates it. Bailey is the sister of the Eaton brothers’ rivals, the Jensens, and she is the bartender at the local bar. Beau knows Bailey from the bar but has never really talked to her until he ends up spending several nights at the bar. This eventually leads to Beau and Bailey making a bet that has them in a fake engagement. One thing leads to another and they get to know each other a lot more. I enjoyed seeing how Beau changed after the incident from before and how Bailey really understood that he would be different. I love that Bailey had no filter with Beau and that Beau tried to look out for her the best he could. Their love was satisfying to watch. One thing I didn’t enjoy as much in this book which is why it’s a bit lower is because they mentioned like every five minutes the age gap. The age gap itself didn’t bother me but I just hated how much it was brought up both in conversation and in the characters thoughts. Overall though, it was a fun read and I liked the series as a whole. I’ll miss reading about these characters!

So far this is my favorite book in Chestnut Springs! We follow Winter and Theo in this one. Winter is the new doctor at Chestnut Springs Hospital and Summer’s older sister. She left her predator husband and city job behind to move to Chestnut Springs and start over with her sister. Winter and Summer have had a rocky relationship but now they are getting closer. It’s at a family dinner that Winter meets Theo. Theo is a bull rider who is being mentored by Rhett, Summer’s husband. Winter and Theo butt heads as soon as they meet but when they end up at their hotel bar together, they drink tequila and end up having one amazing night in bed together. The consequences of that night will follow them for the rest of their lives since Winter ends up pregnant.

I ate this story up! I couldn’t put it down. I even bought the audiobook so I could continue listening to it at work! I just loved seeing Winter finally get the love she deserves and I loved watching Rhett step up and be the man that he always was. Winter’s family drama made me so emotional and she is truly such a strong character given everything she has been through! Winter and Theo together with Vivi just totally made me swoon! The amount of love I saw in this book was so overwhelmingly beautiful and kept me in my feels the whole time. This will definitely be one of those books I keep close to my heart forever. I just loved it and I can even see myself rereading it! Elsie Silver is such a beautiful writer and I do love how she paces her stories and the plot lines she takes. Overall this book was amazing and I’m obsessed!

The 3rd installment in the Chestnut Springs series did not disappoint! We follow Sloane and Jasper as they go from friends to something more. Jasper is an honorary Eaton boy as he grew up with them when their dad took him in. He grows up to be a NHL goalie superstar who is best friends with Sloane. Sloane is the Eaton boys’ cousin who grows up to be a professional ballerina. After seeing both these characters in the first 2 books, it was so nice to finally get their backstories! I loved watching both their characters grow individually into strong confident characters that were able to finally let themselves be happy. I also loved watching them confess their feelings in all aspects of their life when they were used to closing off their feelings. Overall this story was such a tragically beautiful story that had me in my feels the entire time!

I’m loving Elsie Silvers writing so far! This is my second book of hers and I couldn’t put it down! Heartless follows Cade Eaton and Willa Grant. Cade is a single dad who runs their family ranch and always grew up taking care of his brothers which gained him the responsible trait everyone knows him by. Willa is Summer’s best friend who works as a bartender at her brother’s bar until the opportunity to become Cade’s son, Luke’s, nanny. I loved Willa from the first book and getting to see her story unfold was everything I could have wanted and more! I loved watching her fall in love with Luke and Cade and overall finding her place in this world. I loved that Willa was able to show Cade how to be happy again and live his life how he wants. Luke was the cutest thing ever and the question he asks Willa in the epilogue got me teary eyed! I loved the little breadcrumbs we get of Jasper and Sloane in this one and now I’m running to read their story! 😍
