The story had such potential but the writing seemed so bad that it completely let the whole book down. There was no flow to the story, I constantly felt like bits of the book were missing, sentences did sometimes appear to be missing words. I really wanted to like this but it was a disappointment in the end. A weird conflict between wanting to abandon the story because of how bad it flowed, and also wanting to finish the book to find out the ending. I hope her newer works improve as there is so much potential

Never in my life have I been cross to finish a book, until now! This book gripped me in ways I have never been before! I was hooked from the very first page to the very last. On that last page I slammed the book down in rage, simply because I had finished it and I didn't want it to be over! I am so emotionally tied up in these fictional characters and their lives! I was laughing out loud in the last few pages, something I very rarely do with books!
The writing was spectacular, the character development phenomenal, the story sensational! Like, I honestly do not have enough praise for this book! Now please hurry up Mr delivery man and bring me the next one so I can get back to Johnny and Shannon 'like the river'. This story will stay with me, forever in my heart and always ♥️♥️♥️

A fun and fast read. Nothing too spectacular but then it is YA so I went into it with this mindset! Fast paced form start to finish but I don't think I'll feel inclined to reread it.

Absolutely amazing read! The first 70 pages were tough as it is a different writing style to what I'm used to, the notes were hard to get used to and I struggled to understand the time jumps to begin with. Once we hit 100 pages in I was hooked and couldn't put the book down.

Absolutely brilliant second book in this trilogy; and with a massive twist or two at the end! I can't wait to read the final book as it's been set up to open with a bang!

4.5 stars!
I'm so happy that this book started right where the first book ended. Whilst I didn't feel it was quite as good as the first it didn't get marked down by much. I loved the journey that Johnny and Shannon went on and absolutely adore John and Edel. It was heart wrenching and heart warming, sometimes all at the same time. I look forward to delving into joey and Aoife's story
