Tinkers by Paul Harding
5.0
I read this sitting beside Caspian Lake in Vermont, and no setting could be more idyllic for this tender story of life, and the complex relationships that form around human frailty. The characters are all believable and as we watch them one can't help but think of the brevity of life, and the importance of living it, in its entirety.
Paul Harding has such a beautiful touch with words, it was like reading a poetic narrative like the Odyssey.

The Thin Place by Kathryn Davis
2.0
The Thin Place is whimsical and well written novel We are introduced with excellent detail to the various quirky personalities of a small town, including some of its animals. These introductions are the lead up to a dramatic and unusual event at the conclusion. It is written with an unblinking but light tone.
