I absolutely forced myself to finish this book...I've heard that the series as a whole is worth it but I can't even bother to try it out. felt like so much unnecessary violence against women (like I skimmed a lot of that in full honesty).

I will never shut up about how much I LOVED this book. amazing fmc (she's super strong and resilient) and mmc (give me a morally grey man every day of the week). the plot kept me absolutely hooked - so much so that despite the length of the book, I finished it in like a day and a half.

the story itself was good but the writing made it kind of painful to get through. it takes a while to really get interesting and it felt like so much was stuffed into the last bit of the book.

I really loved this book - the characters were great, the plot really held my interest (clearly since I finished it in a day and a half), and I liked the way it was written. strong fmc and the mmc was *chef's kiss*. I am a sucker for a mob story so this was absolutely up my alley.

book was very meh, but I did feel like it was written well. it took me a while to get into and I felt like the plot was kind of lackluster. I enjoyed the characters - felt like the fmc was strong, the side characters were great, the villains were just kind of okay, and the mmc was a decent (semi)redemption arc. it was an easy read though and a nice break from what I usually read.

I recommend this book to everyone simply because of how much I loved it. each character was AMAZING (I'm admittedly totally obsessed with Death but that isn't shocking). great plot twists all over the place and it held my attention the entire way through. cannot wait to read the 2nd book.
