I finished it in one day! It was fantastic.

The only complaint I had was that things seemed a little... planned out. Like the author knew there needed to foreshadowing for something so she went back in and sprinkled in scenes or lines that really stood out and didn’t totally die.

I liked the characters, the big bad in this one was a little.... dull. But the motivations seems right. I guess I just wish we’d seen a little more of the politics and court life.

Would totally recommend and I’m expecting great things from book 3!!

Sooooooo good! I read it in one day - couldn’t put it down.

The plot was fantastic. Every action felt realistic and it didn’t seem forced.

We got to meet the sisters in more detail in this and I have to say, I’m a fan. I think this really fleshed our Lara as a character and was a great addition to the first book.

I actually liked that this one wasn’t as focused on romance as the first, even though that was my favorite part of The Bridge Kingdom. This one was again, an enemies to lovers but so much more complicated based on the things that happened in the first.

Overall, would recommend 200%!!!

HOW WAS THIS INE BETTER THAN THE FIRST?

Excuse me while I cry into a pillow that the third isn’t out yet.

Seriously though, this hate to love romance is one of the better ones I’ve read in awhile. And it’s real hate to love too, gotta love a feisty MC whose not worried about stabbing the jerk that lied to her.

I think that’s one of my favorite parts of this whole book - the MC isn’t passive even when she has no control over what’s happening.

Well that and the spicyness.
