This is the third book by Abby Jiminez that I have read and all three have been 5s. Part of Your World introduces us to Daniel and Alexis. Alexis Montgomery is a big time doctor in Minneapolis. She finds herself meeting Daniel Grant a carpenter from the small town of Wakan. These two hit it off, but there world's couldn't be more different.  And that's where the heart of the story is at. I am really enjoying how Abby how builds two characters who are lovable on their own, but they come together and end up  being great for each other, but the timing is off for one reason or another. The side characters always lend well to the story and Briana is no exception here. I thought she was funny in Yours Truly, but she had me chuckling in this book as well. I will definitely be digging in to more of Abby's books because I loved this one just as much as I loved her others. This one is faster paced than the others in the series.

A fitting end to the Green Bone Saga. I can really appreciate the story that Fonda Lee put together over the course of three books. I didn't care for Jade City as much as I do now because I read all three books. Wow. What a ride. In Jade Legacy we cover the Kauls journey over the next 30 years. We see the family grow in several ways as well as watch each member grow over the course of the book. The decisions made in Jade War have far reaching impacts throughout this book that have both positive and negative implications. There is so much that happens, but the time jumps really flesh out the things. One character's growth I have really appreciated is Hilo. By the end of this book, you see that whatever his flaws, his main concern was always protecting those he deemed as family whether that was the clan, the Maiks, or his actual family. Ayt Mada continues to be one of the coldest villains I have come across in any media form. Conniving, intelligent, deadly. I loved her portrayal throughout the series. It's a fitting end to the Kaul story. The time I spent in this world was well worth it.

Jade War continues the journey of the Kaul family, the leaders of the No Peak clan. Here we see the clan take their jade export internationally to keep up with the Mountain clan. This book takes a deeper look at the steps taken to achieve that goal. Taking things beyond the island of Kekon and the main city of Jonloon helps flesh the story out even more. Fonda did a great job of fleshing out the characters as individuals within the clan. I enjoyed seeing Anden growing up more in Espenia. He was in a teenager in Jade City, so some of his parts in that book were painful, but for reasons. Being on his own forced him to see the world outside the narrow scope of the Kauls on Kekon and it really helps his growth as a character. Hilo continues to be a character walking the line. I found myself questioning his choices, but by the end of the book you can see his thinking ten steps ahead which is what I, and many of the characters in the book failed to give him credit for. Wen and Shae both see similar growths, but Wen's I was most impressed with. She really steps into the role of being the Pillar's wife and more.  Ayt Mada continues to be a powerful and elusive character and she happens to be one of my favorites. A great read. An improvement in many ways over Jade City.
